Heroes Among Us
Honoring the people living lives of sacrifice all around us
Some of the people who have given the most live right down the street. They served our country or our community, and most of them would never ask for a thank you. Heroes Among Us is our way of giving them one.
What Heroes Among Us is
Heroes Among Us started with a simple ticket giveaway on Military Night. We asked people to tell us about someone who deserved a night out, and the stories that came back moved us. So we decided to keep going.
The program honors veterans, active duty, Guard and Reserve service members. Each quarter, we pick an honoree and give them something meaningful, like a night out, a family dinner, a home project or even a mortgage payment.
Who we honor
Military. Active duty, Guard and Reserve service members.
Veterans. Every branch and every era, whether they served in combat or at home.
How to nominate
- Tell us about them. Fill out the short nomination form with who they are and why they deserve to be honored. Anyone can nominate.
- We read every story. Every nomination stays on our list unless the nominee asks to be removed.
- We reach out personally. If your hero is chosen, Tim will contact them himself.
How honorees are chosen
We read every nomination with a few simple things in mind: their service and sacrifice, the season of life they’re in right now, and how much a thank you would mean to them. Tim makes each pick.
We never share a story without a clear yes from the honoree, not just the person who nominated them. Contact details are used only for this program and nothing else.
